WAYS TO HELP AT FCA CAMP
FCA has had Sports Camps for the past 53 years. Over 27,000 coaches and campers participated in our camp program in 2007. This year we are offering two Sports Camps in this Eastern METRO Region. The first one is at Kutztown University, in Kutztown, PA Monday, June 30th through Friday, July 4th, 2008. The second camp will be at Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD on July 14th through July 18th, 2008. These are Sports Camps that offer a variety of sports for 12 - 18 year olds.
If you'd like to volunteer and you're a ...
Coach - tell us your sport and coaching levels. Email: mshull@fca.org and find out if there are any openings and to obtain an application.
Huddle Leader - work with the campers during the week and help them in their sport as well as their "Walk with Christ". Tell us what college you go to or went to, your age and your sport. To qualify you must have been at least high school varsity athlete, be a committed Christian, be enrolled in or have graduated from college and be between the ages of 18 and 29. This is a great ministry opportunity. If you are interested in working more than one camp, intern positions are available. Email: emrfca@fca.org for a huddle leader application and/or intern application. To discuss becoming an intern call: 410-974-6333.
Athletic Trainer: Our Athletic Trainers are on-site trainers who are available during practice times and pretty much when needed throughout the day and evening. We try to get as many as we can to help reduce the workload. We have many repeat clinicians and AT's who faithfully serve year after year. We also have many students come and get hours in for their course work. We try to have at least 4 or 5 certified A.T.'s and a nurse as well. All clinicians and A.T.'s and those who are on staff are given room and board. Email: mshull@fca.org and find out if there are any openings and to obtain an application.
Clinicians - Come and work with the athletes during the practice times - there are two sessions a day: one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We encourage the coaches to share their faith with the campers. Our Huddle Leaders are college athletes who will assist you and they work with the athletes both on the field and in their group discussion times. Huddle Leaders help the athletes develop their sports skills and build up their faith; they are with the campers the entire time.
Contact Molly Shull if you have more questions. All of our staff are volunteers except our FCA staff and interns. While at camp FCA will cover all your food and lodging expenses for you and your family. It is truly a blessing serving at camp- it is alot of fun and very rewarding to see how God works so powerfully in so many lives. Call 1-866-630-CAMP. Thanks again for your interest. We hope to hear from you soon. Email: mshull@fca.org. This is a great way to serve Christ and help us win young athletes to Christ.
